My name is Ilona Wiśniewska. I am a writer and a photographer. I was born in Poland in 1981, where I studied literature and photography. For the past sixteen years
I have lived in the Arctic, which is also the subject of my books.

My work has received numerous awards and nominations, including the Grand Press Award for Best Book of 2022, a finalist nomination for the Nike Literary Award (2022), and the National Geographic Traveler Award for Best Book of 2016. My books have been translated into Czech, Slovak, English, and Italian.
My reportages has been published, among others, in Duży Format, Polityka, and Pismo.

I currently live in Tromsø, in northern Norway.
